Özet:

In the story “Şeytan Tüyü”, Haldun Taner handled the lives of expatriates which has gone Germany as worker. Story is formed from the Ökkeş Topalmusagil’s letters to his cousin Hidayet Ağa who has gone to Germany before and had more experience . Despite the fact that German citizens abused foreign workers, Ökkeş Topalmusagil gets along with people and earns his life by wearing bear costume. He gives advices to his cousin Hasan Ağa who gets bored of life conditions in Germany,and he tells his experiences and gives examples from the lives of people who survives and earn their lives in Germany.In the story the writer told the differences between the cultures and the worker’s problems considering from the Ökkeş Topalmusagil’s observations.The writer used a ironic and humorous expression while telling the differences between the cultures and the conditions of workers.In this study we fastened on Haldun Taner’s letter type, ironic and humorous expressions in the story, differences between the cultures, time, place and the story teller.
