Abstract:

The COVID-19, which appeared in the end of December 2019 in China’s city of Wuhan, has become a global health problem with more than 4 million people worldwide infected by the new type of corona virus (SARS-CoV-2), which spread to the world and caused the first pandemic of the 21st century. During this process, due to the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, healthcare workers (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, patients, etc.) have become the high-risk occupational groups that have interacted with COVID-19 patients. The pharmacists, especially the pharmacists in our country, who are in the status of 1st-level health servers, have continued to serve in the pandemic process as health workers that the public can easily reach. However, while protecting from the new type of corona virus, which is very high in the risk of infection through drop-down contact, is a major health problem for pharmacists and pharmacist technicians in the pharmacies that hundreds of patients visit daily, the pharmacies in the COVID-19 pandemic process have been charged with the task of free masks distribution by taking personal hygiene measures. In this article, the COVID-19 pandemic process will discuss the duties and responsibilities of pharmacists in our country and public services.
