Abstract:

The aim of this study was to examine the graduate thesis called the thesis contained math teachers in Turkey, uncover trends and is presented. 235 postgraduate theses registered in YÖK National Thesis Center where the graduate theses are located and which have the words "Mathematics Teachers" in the name of the thesis were examined. Qualitative approach was used in the research. 235 theses included in the scope of the research were reached on 14.10.2020 from the website https://tez.yok.gov.tr/UlusalTezMerkezi. Theses were examined in line with the purpose, thesis type, language, year and university, sample characteristics, and method used. The data obtained through the document analysis were recorded on the computer by the researchers via Microsoft Excel Program. The data recorded in a table named Thesis Examination Table created by the researchers was analyzed by descriptive and content analysis. At the end of the study, it was determined that the aims of the postgraduate theses on Mathematics Teachers were mostly "to do research on teachers' perception / attitude / understanding / thought / opinions / beliefs on a topic. It has been observed that the majority of theses are master's theses and written in Turkish. Most theses were made in 2019 and it was concluded that it showed an increasing trend until 2020. Theses were mostly done in Middle East Technical University. As the sample, mostly middle school mathematics teachers were taken and the qualitative approach was used predominantly.
