Abstract:

Education is a process that takes place throughout the lives of people. Through education, people can be employed in different fields according to the training they receive by specializing in specific topics. It is extremely important that higher education, which has an important place among the educational programs aimed at developing people’s knowledge and skills, is qualified and designed according to the developments within the sector. The need for differentiation, especially in the service sector, shows that the competition is too sensitive, the need for comprehensive training towards the service sector. The work-thick structure of the tourism sector, the humanity of the parties directly producing and consuming services, makes it mandatory that the high education in the tourism sector is designed in accordance with the diverse, current, human and sector structure. In this context, the research of the practices of the accreditation of tourism education is extremely important. The Tourism Academics Association (TUADER), authorized by the Higher Education Council of the Republic of Turkey (YÖK) on the accreditation of tourism education, the purpose, scope, and quality of the work of the Tourism Education Assessment and Accreditation Council (TURAK), which is the tourism education accreditation board, is the purpose and importance of the research. The research shows the nature and importance of the work of TURAK.
