Özet:

The citizenship policies in Turkey as with the whole world have been tackled within the framework of the nation-state. Those being defined by the hands of Turkish identity have taken shape with the model of Turkish citizenship based on the criteria of paternity. Although the model was initially built to collect the different ethnicities in itself under the same roof, it has been one of the reasons that led to the otherising of the foreign identities in the following years. It is conceived that the outering attitude that has been observed towards the people immigrating from Syria to Turkey has been concerned with followed citizenship policies regarding to the nation-state in recent years. Thus, this article aims to examine the policies for the Syrian people, now followed by the state as relating to the issues of Turkish citizenship, the legal regulations towards the foreign people, civil rights and duties and sociologically analyze those through their social reflections.
