The Crimean Kongo Blood Fever (KKKA) virus is an arbovirus group, the Nairovirus genus associated with the Bunyaviridae family, a covered RNA virus containing helical capside. The infection caused by these viruses is a disease that shows severe fluidity and its fatality is quite high. In our study, an IgG-type antibodies examination was planned in the Konya region in order to investigate KKKA seroprevalence. For this purpose, the University of Necmettin Erbakan was included in the study of 1000 healthy blood donors who were engaged to donate blood to the Meram Medical School Hospital's Blood Center. Of those involved, 846 (84.6%) lived in the city centre, while 154 (15.4%) lived in rural areas. Of the respondents, 947 (94.7%) were male and 53 (5.3%) female. The commercial KKKA IgG test kit (VectoCrimeaCHF-IgG, Bectop, Russia) was used to determine the specific IgG antibodies developed against KKKA using the ELISA method. Of the tested samples, 8 (0.8%) were positive in terms of the antibodies that developed against CCCA, while 992 (99.2%) were negative. All those who were positive were men. The presence of IgG-type antibodies in the region of Konya after the examination of KKKA seroprevalence indicates the presence of the virus. Similar studies will be useful to be performed in other areas where the disease is observed to reveal regional seroprevalence data. Since this viral infection develops depending on cranberries, the viral investigation should also be carried out in the corners of the area.
