Halkın devlet idaresinde kayıtsız şartsız hâkimiyetini esas alan cumhuriyet rejimi Türkiye´de meşakkatli bir sürecin sonucunda ilan edilebilmiştir. 29 Ekim 1923´te cumhuriyetin ilanı, Osmanlı Devleti´nde 1876´da ilan edilen meşrutiyet ile halkın idaredeki hâkimiyet hakkını ele almaya başlaması sürecinin bir gelişim ve olgunlaşma merhalesini teşkil etmiştir. Özellikle Millî Mücadele dönemindeki olayların cumhuriyetin ilanına giden nihai kararda büyük ölçüde etkili olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Bu rejim değişikliği ile Türkiye´de siyasal alanda köklü bir değişim ve dönüşüm söz konusu olmuştur. Bu çalışma münasebetiyle Atatürk döneminde (1923-1938) Bolu merkezi ile Düzce, Gerede, Mudurnu ve Göynük ilçelerinde yapılan Cumhuriyet Bayramı kutlamaları özgün bilgi ve belgeler ışığında incelenmiştir. Bolu halkı; idari ve askerî erkânı, genci yaşlısı, kadını erkeği, öğrencisi öğretmeni, esnafı ve memuru ile bu etkinliklerde hazır bulunmuştur. Cumhuriyet Bayramı´nın Bolu´da her geçen sene daha büyük bir coşku ve heyecan ile kutlandığı görülmektedir. Bu vesileyle Bolu halkı milletin kurtuluşu ve yeni devletin kuruluşu hususunda oynadığı rol nedeniyle Cumhur reisi Gazi Mustafa Kemal´e bağlılığını, devletin istikbali hususunda da cumhuriyet rejimine güvenini dile getirmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında Türkiye ve Türk milleti için önem arz eden millî bir motivasyon kaynağı olarak Cumhuriyet Bayramı kutlamalarına Anadolu´daki bir şehirden bakılarak halkın yeni rejime ve bu rejimin kazandırdıklarına ilişkin düşünceleri de yansıtılmaya çalışılmıştır.
The Republican regime, which is based on the unconditional sovereignty of the people's state administration, could be declared as a result of a busy process in Turkey. The Declaration of the Republic of October 29, 1923 formed a breakthrough of development and maturity of the process of the lawfulness declared in the Ottoman State in 1876 and the beginning of the people to deal with the right to sovereignty in administration. It is clear that the events in the period of national struggle have been greatly influential in the final decision that goes to the declaration of the Republic. With this regime change, there has been a radical change and transformation in the political field in Turkey. With this work in the Atatürk period (1923-1938) the celebrations of the Republic Day held in the Bolu center and districts of Düzce, Gerede, Mudurnu and Göynük were studied in the light of original information and documents. The people of Bolu, the administrative and military man, the youth old man, the woman man, the student teacher, the businessman and the officer were prepared for these events. The Republic Day is celebrated every year in Bolu with a greater enthusiasm and excitement. On this occasion, the people of Bolu expressed their commitment to the Republican President Gazi Mustafa Kemal because of their role in the liberation of the nation and the establishment of the new state, and their confidence in the republican regime as well as in the stability of the state. In the framework of the study, a national source of motivation that brings importance to the Turkish and Turkish people, the celebrations of the Republic Day were viewed from a city in Anatolia to reflect the ideas of the people about the new regime and what this regime has earned.
