Yaşamın izleri, anılar, tarih kentsel mekânlarda birikim oluşturarak, yerin kimliğini, özgünlüğünü ve her şeyden önemlisi aidiyeti oluşturur. Yere ve topluluğa bağlı gelişen aidiyetin sürekliliği ve güçlenmesi, yerin kimliğini güçlendirerek sürekliliğini sağlamaktadır. Küresel kültürün egemen olduğu dünyamızda yerel yaşam kültürü ve kimliklerin özgünlüğü mekânların dönüşümü ile birlikte kaybedilmektedir. Dolayısıyla bireysel bellek çerçevelerinden yola çıkarak kolektif bellekte yer etmiş mekânların tespit edilmesi sağlıklı ve imgelenebilir kentsel çevreler oluşturma noktasında önem taşımaktadır. Bu araştırmada, deprem afeti ile ciddi bir kentsel yıkım yaşayan ve deprem sonrası yeni yaşam alanlarının oluşmasıyla yer değiştirmek zorunda kalan Düzcelilerin bellek mekânlarının tespiti amacına yönelik bir metot önerisi sunulmuştur. Araştırma yöntem olarak sözlü mülakat ve zihinsel harita kullanımını içeren iki aşamadan meydana gelmektedir. Hatırlanma sayısı ve hatırlanma sırasının önemli kriterler olduğu anket verileri ışığında belirlenen kentsel mekânlar, geliştirilen puantaj tekniği sayesinde elde edilen frekansların yıllar bazında (afet öncesi ve sonrası) kıyaslanmasıyla hatırlanma ve unutulma döngüleri başlıkları altında gruplandırılmıştır. Hatırlama döngüsü içerisinde yer alan bellek mekânları potansiyel kimlik mekânları olarak nitelendirilirken, unutulma döngüsü içerisinde yer alan mekânlar ise tehdit altında olan ve kente geri kazandırılmayı bekleyen bellek mekânlar olarak nitelendirilmiştir. Yapılan bu araştırma sonucunda kimlik kazanımı için sürekliliği önemli olan bellek mekânlarının belirlenmesi için metodolojik bir öneri hazırlanmış olup, farklı kentlere uygulanabilir olması yönünden geliştirilmeye açıktır. Toplumun belleğinde sürekliliği olan mekânların korunması veya geliştirilmesi için öngörülen bu çalışmanın kent kimliğinin sürekliliğini sağlamak konusunda referans kaynak oluşturması öngörülmüştür. The traces of life, the memories, the history, by creating accumulation in urban places, form the identity of the land, its originality and, most importantly, its membership. The continuity and strengthening of the development of association connected to the earth and the community ensures its continuity by strengthening the identity of the earth. In our world where the global culture is dominated, the local life culture and the originality of identities are lost along with the transformation of spaces. Therefore, the identification of places placed in collective memory, starting from the framework of individual memory, is important in the creation of healthy and imaginable urban environments. In this study, a method proposed for the purpose of identifying the memory spaces of the Düzcelis, who live with a serious urban destruction and who have to change their place with the formation of new habitat areas after the earthquake. The research method consists of two stages that include oral interview and the use of mental maps. Urban spaces determined in light of the survey data where the number of memories and the order of memories are important criteria, are grouped under the headlines of memories and forgotten cycles, compared with the years of the frequencies obtained through the advanced score technique (pre- and after-feat). The memory spaces within the memory cycle are qualified as potential identity spaces, while the spaces within the forget cycle are qualified as the memory spaces that are under threat and are waiting to be returned to the city. The result of this research is a methodological proposal for the determination of the memory spaces, which is important to continuity for the acquisition of identity, and is open to develop in the direction of being applicable to different cities. For the conservation or development of places with continuity in the memory of the society, this study is expected to create a reference source to ensure the continuity of the city identity.
