Abstract:

Purpose: Lingual thyroid tissue occurs when the whole or part of the thyroid tissue is linked to an embryological defect in the tongue root and is exposed to an incorrect descent. It is usually symptomatic. It can rarely cause symptoms or imitate a lingual tumor.We intended to present the symptomatic phenomenon of the lingual thyroid seen as a narrow radiological and syntigraphic findings accompanied by ileliterature.Olga:45 year old, the female patient has long been suffering from breathing and swallowing difficulties.In the contrasted neck tomography, the corner of the tongue, correctly limited, the column of the air, the intense homogeneous contrast holding the damage has been shown to be hyperdensed according to the muscle tissues in the contrastless tomographs. Hyperogenic injury was observed in the ultrasound and the thyroid gland was not observed in the lotion. Clinical and laboratory findings were in line with subclinical hypothyroidism. The patient's imagelessness was compatible with the ectopic lingual thyroid and the diagnosis was confirmed by syntigraphy. The ectopic thyroid tissues that give symptoms are exhausted by surgery if it is not the only thyroid tissue in the body. As in our case, in 75% of the lingual thyroid cases the only function-ongösteren structure is this ectopic tissue. Therefore, the clinics should be as careful as they are before planning surgery. As a result, it is beneficial for the diagnosis of the ectopic thyroid tissue, the protection from unnecessary surgeon with a pre-diagnosis of the disease and the early diagnosis of a malignity that may develop the ectopic thyroid tissue.
