Nowadays, the market boundaries expanding with globalization, rapidly changing technology, the diversity of the customers' requests that change faster than the previous years and the increase in the product variety have made competitiveness quite difficult. To survive in this environment, businesses should analyze the elements both inside and outside their business environment and develop appropriate strategies. For this, first, they need to know what their assets and abilities are and need to be able to manage them in the most appropriate way. This leads to a resource-based approach strategy. The most basic source of business is human capital. Human capital, seen as a big cost item in the past, has become an important competition tool by increasing its importance today. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between human capital in businesses in Ordu province, business-specific human capital and competitive advantage as organizational performance measure and the relationship between these variables and demographic variables. Field study was conducted in businesses in Ordu province. The universe of the research consists of businesses in Ordu Province. For this reason, 33 examples selected among the businesses from various sectors constitute the sample of the study. Sample data were analyzed using IBM SPSS program. As a result of the study, it was concluded that there is no statistically significant relationship between human capital and organizational performance within the scope of this sample. According to another important finding, as the qualities of the business-specific human capital become superior, organizational performance also increases. In other words, there is a statistically significant and positive relationship between business-specific human capital and organizational performance.
