Objective: To classify and to associate anthropometric measure-ments with the risk of correlated diseases in a sample of users of the AltoVera Cruz Health Care in Belo Horizonte, MG, with overweight and obesity profile. Literature Revision: It is known that obesity is directly or indirectly correlated with other types of pathologic conditions that contribute to morbi-mortality as cardiovascular diseases, osseomuscular diseases, neoplasic diseases, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, choleli-thiasis and depression. Materials and Methods. The research sample was composed of 312 men and women including adolescents, adults and elders. It was made the measurement of weight and height(BMI), waist circumference and the collection of medical diagnosis registered in papers of the observed group. Results: In the evaluation of this sample, 64.10% were classified with overweight and obesity, overcoming the eutrophics. The chronic diseases associated with obesity and overweight were depression, cardiovascular diseases, osteomuscular diseases, and diabetes. Discussion: Obesity and overweight are present in all ages, although obesity was the more prevalent in adult women and elderly women, being the women more susceptible to developing cardiovascular diseases compared to men. Conclusion: The analysis result shows the high prevalence of obesity in this sample, confirming the data literature for the associa-tion risk to cardiac disease, osteomusculardisease, depressionand diabetes.
