Amaç: Bu çalışmada evli kadınlarda cinsel özgüven ile bağlanma stilleri arasındaki ilişkide sosyal görünüş kaygısının aracılık etkisini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırma tanımlayıcı ve ilişkisel tarama modelinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın evrenini Yozgat ilindeki evli kadınlar oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın örneklemini 375 evli kadın oluşturmuştur. Katılımcılara kişisel bilgi formu, Cinsel Özgüven Ölçeği, Yakın İlişkilerde Yaşantılar Envanteri II, Sosyal Görünüş Kaygısı Ölçeği online olarak uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Bağlanma stilleri puan ortalaması ile cinsel özgüven puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve negatif yönlü bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır (r=-0.388; p<0.05). Cinsel özgüven ile sosyal görünüş kaygısı arasındaki yol katsayısının anlamlı olduğu tespit edilmiştir (β=-0.374; p<0.001). Sosyal görünüş kaygısı ile bağlanma stilleri arasındaki yol katsayısı anlamlıdır (β= 0.016; p<0.001). Evli kadınların sosyal görünüş kaygısı puanlarının %5.6’lık kısmı cinsel özgüven ile öngörülmektedir. Bağlanma stilleri puanlarının ise %21.2’lik kısmı cinsel özgüven ve sosyal görünüş kaygısı ile ön görülmektedir. Sonuç: Çalışma sonucunda sosyal görünüş kaygısı arttıkça cinsel özgüvenin azaldığı, bağlanma stillerinin ise arttığı görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte bağlanma stilleri arttıkça cinsel özgüven azalmaktadır. Evli kadınlarda cinsel özgüven ile bağlanma stilleri arasındaki ilişkide sosyal görünüş kaygısının aracılık rolünün orta düzeyde olduğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca kadınlarda cinsel özgüvenin bağlanma stilleri üzerinde doğrudan bir yordayıcı etkisi vardır. Mevcut çalışmada bağlanma stillerinin önemli bir kısmı cinsel özgüven ve sosyal görünüş kaygısı ile açıklanmaktadır. Bağlanma ile ilgili gelecekte yapılacak çalışmalarda, olası bağımsız değişkenlerin daha kapsamlı bir şekilde ele alınıp değerlendirilmesi önerilir.
Objective: This study aimed to determine the mediating effect of social appearance anxiety on the relationship between sexual self-confidence and attachment styles in married women. Method: The study was carried out with a descriptive-relational design. The population of the research consisted of married women in Yozgat. The sample of the study consisted of 375 married women. Personal information form, Sexual Self-Confidence Scale, Experiences in Close Relationships, Social Appearance Anxiety Scale were administered online to the participants. Results: There was a statistically significant and negative correlation between the mean score of the attachment styles and the mean score of the sexual self-confidence (r=-0.388; p<0.05). The path coefficient between sexual self-confidence and social appearance anxiety was statistically significant (β=-0.374; p<0.001). The path coefficient between social appearance anxiety and attachment styles was significant (β=0.016; p<0.001). 5.6% of social appearance anxiety scores of married women were explained by sexual self-confidence. On the other hand, 21.2% of attachment styles scores were explained by sexual self-confidence and social appearance anxiety. Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was observed that as social appearance anxiety increases, sexual self-confidence decreases and attachment styles increase. However, as the attachment styles increases, the sexual self-confidence decreases. It was found that the mediating role of social appearance anxiety in the relationship between sexual self-confidence and attachment styles in married women was at a moderate level. In addition, sexual self-confidence has a direct predictive effect on attachment styles in women. In the current study, a significant part of attachment in close relationships was explained by sexual self-confidence and social appearance anxiety. In future studies, it is recommended that possible independent variables should be considered and evaluated more comprehensively regarding attachment styles.
