Abstract:

It was aimed in the study to investigate the impact size of the sources of power used by school administrators on organizational citizenship, organizational trust, organizational cynicism, and organizational silence from the perspective of teachers by using meta-analysis approach, which is one of research synthesis methods. For this purpose, 19 studies, including master’s and PhD theses written on the sources of power used by school administrators in the context of Turkey and articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, were included in the study through data bases. As a result of the study, a positive and weak relationship was found between the legitimate power, reward power, referent power and expert power used by school administrators and teachers’ organizational citizenship behaviors and organizational trust emotions, and a negative and weak relationship was determined between school administrators’ said powers and teachers’ organizational cynicism and organizational silence behaviors. In addition, a positive and very weak relationship was found between the expert power used by school administrators and organizational citizenship, organizational trust, and organizational silence, and the relationship between school administrators’ expert power and organizational cynicism was determined to be negative and very weak. It is thought that the meta-analysis results based on the organizational outputs of the power sources that affect the teachers in terms of social, psychological and performance will contribute both theoretically and practically.
