Abstract:

Zia Gökalp is undoubtedly one of the leading names of the Turkish stream. Therefore, it was read by a lot of people who researched the Turkish language. The most important problem at this point was that a comprehensive reading was missed. Therefore, the main objective of the study is to show with examples why the Turkish language of Gökalp should be read in all circumstances. The nationalism age, which resulted in the occupation of multinational structures by national states, made it compulsory for the Turks to build their own nations, to explore their cultures and languages and to reveal a national Turkish identity. Gökalp, who depicts a new life instead of the life that was inherited from the Ottoman, combines the foundations of this new life with the principles of Turkishness and wants to build a new society. In this study, the ideas that Gokalp raises in ethics, language, philosophy, politics, law, education, culture and civilization issues and conceptual discussions have been taken as an example. From these examples, it was discussed the image of Gökalp towards the Turkish people. Through the ideas Gokalp gathered under the Turkish roof in the construction process, it has been attempted to reveal that Muslim, contemporary Turkish people are depicted in all aspects.
