Abstract:

Cyctic echinococcus (KE) is a zoonotic disease that is common in the world, formed by the placement of the larva form of Echinococcus granulosus in various organs in both animals and humans. KE is common in animals and in rural areas. This study was conducted in the University of Kafkas Health Research and Application Hospital in the Eastern Anadolu Region of Turkey with the aim of determining the anti-E. granulosus seropositivity in clinically pre-diagnosed patients. Methods: The study material was taken from clinically pre-diagnosed patients from January 2018 to December 2020 to the University of Kafkas Health Research and Application Hospital and created 498 blood samples sent to the Parasitology Laboratory. Obtained serum samples were studied by indirect hemaglutination method. Results: Anticorps anti-E. granulosus have been detected in 74 (498) patients with clinical pre-diagnosis in the direction of the cyst. 74 of the positivity found, for example, 53 (71.6 percent) were female and 21 (28.4 percent) male patients (p<0.05). Anti-E. granulosus antibodies were most commonly detected in the age range of 16-30 years (32.9 percent) (p<0.05 percent) and in the age range of 16-60 years (19.3 percent). The result: the work data cover the entire East Anadolu region of Turkey, but it has been found that the KE in the region retains its importance as a public health problem.
