Bu araştırmada, velilerin ve öğretmenlerin özel günlerde hediye alımı/kabulü ile ilgili bakış açılarının ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma nitel bir araştırma olup durum çalışması desenine sahiptir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2022-2023 eğitim–öğretim yılında ilkokul ve ortaokullarda öğrenim gören çocuğu bulunan 22 veli ve devlete bağlı farklı ilkokul ve ortaokullarda görev yapan 23 öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında anket formları ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Gönüllülük esasına dayalı olarak yürütülen araştırmada, elde edilen veriler içerik analizi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre veliler ve öğretmenler özel günlerde öğretmenlerin manevi değer gözeterek hediye kabul etmeleri gerektiğini vurgulamışladır. Veliler, öğretmenlerin maddi değeri yüksek olan ve WhatsApp/sınıf annelerinin baskıları ile alınan hediyeleri kabul etmemesi gerektiğini belirtmiştir. Bu düşüncelere paralel görüşler ortaya koyan öğretmenler ise hediyeleşmeyi toplumsal yaşamda yeri olan bir sembol olarak gördüklerini ifade etmiştir. Ortaya çıkan bulgular doğrultusunda önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
In this research, it is aimed to reveal the perspectives of parents and teachers regarding the purchasing of gifts on special occasions. The research is a qualitative research that has a case study pattern. The study group of the research was created and evaluated between 22 parents whose children are studying in primary and secondary schools, and 23 teachers who are working in different primary and secondary state schools in 2022-2023 academic year. Questionnaire forms and semi-structured interview forms had been used to collect the research data. In the voluntary based research, the obtained data had been analyzed by using content analysis. According to the results of the research, parents and teachers had emphasized that teachers should accept gifts on special days by considering moral values. The parents stated that teachers should not accept gifts and the gifts that have been purchased by under pressure from class mothers. Teachers, who put forward parallel opinions to these thoughts, stated that they see gift giving as a symbol that has a place in social life. Suggestions were made in line with the findings.
