Background: Pregnancy is one of the most important events experienced throughout life of women. Pregnancy also brings with it many changes physiological, psychological and social perspective although is a natural event. For this reason, sleep and perceived stress during pregnancy has an important place for pregnant women. Objectives: This study was to determine the relationship of sleep quality and perceived stress of pregnant women. Methods: The study is a descriptive and cross-sectional study. The study were made with 300 pregnant women from January 10 to April 10 2011 in hospital in the city of Sivas. The data were collected using a personal information form, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Perceived Stress Scale. Percentage distribution, t test, Pearson correlation analysis and ANOVA tests were used for the data analysis. Results: In this study of pregnant woman the median point of the PSQI was found to be 5.13 ± 3.35, the median point of the perceived stres was found to be 25.30 ± 5.04, 39.6% stated that their sleep quality was poor ( > 5). There are significant the positive relationship quality sleep between perceived stres of pregnant woman (r = .37, p = .001). The worse the quality sleep also increases perceived stres. Conclusion: Pregnant woman have got the worse the quality sleep, perceived stres higher, there is a close relationship between quality sleep and perceived stres
