In this study, crimes against property committed in 2006-2008 in police accountability areas of the downtown Bandirma were analyzed. Thus, residential areas in the city was chosen as the working area. The data obtained from Balikesir were classified to meet the objectives of this study. Temporal and spatial distributions of the crimes were detected and the reasons underlying them were evaluated. Information relating to the subject was also received from Bandirma governor’s office and Bandirma municipality. This study was supported by two hypotheses. Graphs, tables, and maps were used to clarify the issue. The relationship between crimes and their underlying causes and the strength of the relationship were analyzed using regression analysis. Our results show that timing and location directly influences crime Use of the land, population density, educational status and timing directly influence crime; it is understood that busy streets, MIA and functional variation are causes of crimes. Increased frequency of crime was seen in 7 Eylul, Pasabayir, 600 Evler, and Haydar Cavus districts of the Bandirma city. In addition, crime plateaus were found in Kayacık, Çalışkanlar, Paşamescit ve Levent districts
