Boşanma, evlilik ve aile kurumu içerisinde yaşanılan problemlerin sonucu olarak ortaya çıkan en yaygın sosyal olgulardan biridir. Modernleşme süreciyle birlikte bütün dünyada ve dolayısıyla Türkiye’de boşanma oranlarında kayda değer bir artışın olduğu gözlenmektedir. Tekirdağ, Türkiye ortalamasına göre yüksek boşanma oranlarına sahip bir ildir. Bu sebeple Tekirdağ’da bu boşanma oranlarının neden yüksek olduğuna ve boşanma sürecinin sonuçlarına dair bir araştırma yapılması hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaçla, Tekirdağ’da 40 kişilik bir örneklemle ve nitel yöntemle yapılan bu çalışmada Tekirdağ’daki boşanma sebepleri, evlilik ve boşanma süreçleri ele alınmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Tekirdağ’da daha bireyselleşmiş bir toplumsal ilişkiler ağının yerleştiği, kadınların ailelerinin boşanma sürecinde çocuklarına daha çok destek olduğu ve boşanma olayının Türkiye’nin diğer bölgelerine oranla daha doğal bir sosyal olay olarak karşılandığı görülmüştür.
Divorce is one of the most common social events that arise as a inevitable result of marriage and family. With the process of modernization, there is a remarkable increase in divorce rates throughout the world and therefore in Turkey. It is also a region with high divorce rates according to the average in Turkey. Therefore, it is intended to investigate why these divorce rates are high. For this purpose, in Tekirdağ with a sample of 40 persons and with the quality method in this study, the reasons for divorce in Tekirdağ, marriage and divorce process were addressed. As a result, it has been seen that a more individualized social relations network is located in Tekirdağ, that women’s families are more supporting their children in the divorce process, and that the divorce event is seen as a more natural social event than in other regions of Turkey.
Divorce is one of the most common social phenomena occurring as one of the most common results of the problems occurring in marriage and family. Along with the modernization process, a considerable increase has been observed in divorce rates both in Turkey and all over the world. Tekirdağ is a city which has higher divorce rates than the national average divorce rates. Therefore, this study tries to elucidate the reasons behind these high divorce rates and the results of these divorces by making this field research. For this purpose, this paper examines reasons for divorce, marriage and divorce processes with a sample of 40 people and a qualitative method. The findings and results of the study show that in Tekirdağ there is a more individualized network of social relations, families of women are more supportive to their daughters and the phenomenon of divorce is considered as an ordinary social fact relatively to other regions of Turkey.
