Covid-19 pandemisi, dünya genelinde tüm sektörleri etkileyen kısıtlama ve kapanmalara neden olmuştur. Pandeminin yayılmasını önlemek üzere atılan adımlar kapsamında Türkiye’deki üniversiteler de 2020 yılı Mart ayı itibariyle uzaktan eğitime geçmişlerdir. Yaşanan bu süreç, eğitim sisteminin eğitim altyapısı, öğretim elemanları ve öğrenciler ekseninde sorgulandığı önemli bir tecrübe sunmuştur. Eğitim sisteminde böylesine kısa bir süre zarfında ülke genelinde yaşanan bir dönüşüm tecrübesinin eşsiz olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmada da yaşanan bu değerli tecrübenin ve yükseköğretim sisteminin daha da iyileştirilmesine dönük önerilerin derlenmesi sonucunda bir karar destek dokümanı oluşturulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda, Türkiye genelindeki 84 üniversiteden 744 öğretim elemanı tarafından yanıtlanan anketler ile öğretim elemanlarının süreç hakkındaki görüş ve önerileri alınmıştır. Yapılan değerlendirmeler sonucunda, üniversite türü, uzaktan eğitim tecrübesi, yaş gibi faktörlerin öğretim elemanlarının uzaktan eğitime bakışları arasında farklılık yarattığı görülmüştür. Öğretim elemanlarının açık uçlu ifadelerle dile getirdikleri tespit ve öneriler ana başlıklar altında derlenmiştir. Yaşanan süreç, mevcut eğitim yapısını sorgulamak ve daha da iyiye götürmek üzere önemli bir fırsat sunmaktadır. Anket sonuçlarında da ifade edildiği üzere pandemi etkileri geçtiğinde de uzaktan eğitimin yükseköğretimdeki ağırlığının artacağı, dolayısıyla önümüzdeki sürecin daha verimli olması için gerekli adımların yaşanan tecrübeler ışığında şimdiden atılması gerektiği düşünülmektedir.
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused restrictions and closures affecting all sectors around the world. In the framework of the steps taken to prevent the spread of the pandemic, the universities in Turkey have also passed remote education from March 2020. This process has presented an important experience in which the educational system; the educational infrastructure, teachers and students are questioned in the axis. It is believed that a transformation experience throughout the country in such a short period of time in the education system is unique. This study also aims to create a decision support document as a result of the collection of recommendations for the further improvement of this valuable experience and the higher education system. In this context, 744 researchers from 84 universities across Turkey responded to the survey and the opinions and recommendations of the teachers on the process were taken. The results of the assessments have shown that factors such as the type of university, the experience of distance learning, the age have made a difference between the views of teachers on distance learning. The teachers’ findings and suggestions expressed with open end expressions are compiled under the main titles. The current process offers an important opportunity to question the current educational structure and to make it even better. If the effects of the pandemic are passed, the weight of distance education in higher education will increase, and therefore the necessary steps to make the next process more efficient should already be taken in the light of the experiences experienced.

The scope of the steps taken to prevent the spread of the pandemic, universities in Turkey also began to provide distance education in March 2020. This process has provided an important experience in which the education system is questioned on the basis of educational infrastructure, lecturers and students The experience of a nationwide transformation in such a short period of time in the education system is considered to be unique. In this study, it is aimed to create a decision support document by compiling this valuable experience and suggestions for further improvement of the higher education system. In this context, the opinions and recommendations of teaching staff regarding the distance education process were taken with the help of surveys which were responded by 744 lecturers from 84 universities of Turkey. As a result of the study, it was seen that factors such as the type of university, distance education experience, and age make a difference in the views of the lecturers towards distance education. In addition, the determinations and suggestions of the instructors that they stated by openended expressions were compiled under main headings. This process experienced offers an important opportunity to question the current educational structure and to improve it further. As also stated in the survey results, it is predicted that the weight of distance education in higher education will also increase at post-pandemic term. Therefore, it is thought that the necessary steps should be taken in the light of the experiences in order to make the next process more efficient.
