Abstract:

The rapidly changing technology and uses are influencing all areas of society. The visual communication feeding by art and design is also not far from this change and transformation. The purpose of this research is to question the concept of glitch as a new media art based on the process of 'glitch' and to reveal its artistic reflections. The research was carried out with an interpretative quality research plan. The research data was obtained in 2 stages with semi-configured discussions and document analysis. In the first phase, the designers who meet the standards determined by the field experts and specialized in the glitching sense were reached and the glitch theme application was carried out with the voluntary participation of these persons. After the participant’s glitchs were gathered within a certain period of time, deep conversations were held with them and the participants received comments in the context of glitch and ‘glitch’ing. According to the research, it can be said that as a new media art, glitchin esthetically transforms some basic phenomena into the visual home.
