Abstract:

The dazzling developments in the field of digital technology in recent times have profoundly affected the basic routines of daily life, the forms of communication and interaction, and the perceptions and approaches of individuals in almost every subject. Internet and social media networks, which provide convenience in many areas by offering different options, can also cause some negativities. Consuming excessive time in social media and internet networks causes individuals to experience physical, psychological and communicative problems, and to become the target or perpetrator of cyberbullying. On the other hand, the change in the structure and functions of the family with modernization accelerates with the emergence of the internet and new media platforms. Ideas about establishing a family differ, family relations change dimensions, and the family institution, which is the foundation of society, is undergoing change and transformation in many ways. It is thought that the effects of excessive use of social media platforms and the internet on family relations are undeniable. From this point of view, it can be said that it is a necessity to deal with family relations through social media, digital addiction and cyberbullying issues and to examine the issue in detail. The aim of the study is to address, analyze and discuss the impact of digital media on family life and relationships.
