Günümüzde modern teknolojik gelişmelerin izlenmesi hem mikro hem de makro düzeyde oldukça önemli hale gelmiştir. Dijitalleşme günümüzde ekonomik ve sosyal gelişimin temel itici güçlerinden biri olarak kabul edilmektedir. Dijital ekonominin sürdürülebilir kalkınma açısından önemi, dinamik ve rekabetçi bir ekonominin başarılmasında büyük bir paya sahip olmasından kaynaklanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, dijital ekonominin sürdürülebilir kalkınma üzerindeki etkisini 28 AB ülkesi için 2018 verilerini kullanarak yatay-kesit analiz yöntemi ile test etmektir. Çalışma sonucu elde edilen ampirik bulgulara göre, dijital ekonomi ve toplum endeksinin, sürdürülebilir kalkınma endeksi üzerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve pozitif yönlü bir etkiye sahip olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır
Nowadays, monitoring of modern technological developments has become very important at both micro and macro levels. Digitalization is considered to be one of the main drivers of economic and social development today. The importance of the digital economy in terms of sustainable development is due to its great contribution to the achievement of a dynamic and competitive economy. The aim of this study is to test the impact of the digital economy on sustainable development using the 2018 data for 28 EU countries by using the horizontal-cutting analysis method. According to the empirical findings obtained by the study, the digital economy and community index have a statistically meaningful and positive impact on the sustainable development index.
