Abstract:

Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, who was interested in almost every field of art and reflected the elements he was influenced in his works, managed to attract the attention of the reader with his works written in poetry, despite being small in quantity. Creating unique images in the poem genre, Tanpınar tried to reflect his feelings through these images. One of these images is "light". The influence of a world of imagination dating back to his childhood lies beneath the poet's use of this image. This is because, Tanpınar first met with starry nights and the effect of sunny noon hours on the sea in his childhood. Tanpınar used this image in the maturity period poems in which he described nature. Tanpınar's image of light in the world of poetry makes itself felt in the poems that are exhilarating, where the door toward the outside world is opened and in which optimism comes to the fore. From this point of view, in this study, the attention in Tanpınar’s poems, which surrounds life, approaches life with optimism and is rather paid to a woman/nature will be narrated through the image of light.
