Bu araştırmanın temel amacı; öğrencilerin geleceğe yönelik hedef belirlemesinde sosyal medya rolünü, öğrencilerin öznel yaklaşımları çerçevesinde tespit etmektir. Araştırma çalışma grubunu; 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında Bursa ili, Yıldırım İlçesi sınırları içerisindeki ortaokulda okuyan 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Öğrenciler amaçlı örnekleme yoluyla seçilmişlerdir. Temel nitel araştırma şeklinde yürütülmüş bu çalışmada veri elde etmek amacıyla görüşme tekniğinden yararlanılarak, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin sosyal medya kullanma durumları, en çok tercih ettikleri sosyal medya platformları ve nedenleri, sosyal medya kullanma gereksinimleri, karar verme süreçlerinde sosyal medyadan yararlanma durumları ve sosyal medya kullanımının hedef belirleme süreçlerine etkisi betimsel analiz yöntemiyle ortaya konulmuş, elde edilen bulgular yorumlanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, öğrencilerin, %94'ünün sosyal medya kullandığı, en fazla tercih edilen platformların Instagram ve Youtube olduğu, öğrencilerin eğlendirici ve eğitici buldukları platformu tercih ettikleri, boş zaman değerlendirme, eğlenme ihtiyaçlarının öğrencileri sosyal medyaya yönelttiği ve öğrencilerin %54'ünün geleceğe yönelik hedef belirlerken sosyal medyadan etkilenirken, %46'sının ise etkilenmediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The main objective of this research is to identify the role of social media in determining students’ future goals, in the framework of students’ subjective approaches. The research work group; 2019-2020 educational year forms 7th and 8th grade students studying in the middle school within the border of the Bursa, Yıldırım District. Students are selected through sample purposes. In this study, a semi-configured interview form was used to obtain data with the aim of using the conversation technique. The findings are interpreted by the visual analysis method of the state of social media use of students, the social media platforms and reasons they prefer, the social media use requirements, the state of social media use in decision-making processes and the impact of social media use on the targeting processes. According to the findings, 94% of students use social media, the most popular platforms are Instagram and Youtube, they prefer the platform they find fun and educational, free time evaluation, entertainment needs direct students to social media and 54% of students are influenced by social media while setting their future goals, while 46% are not influenced.
