Abstract:

Introduction: Malign melanoma is a disease that is derived from melanocytes, increasing the frequency of occurrence and causes 65% of deaths from skin cancer. Its primary treatment is total excision and locoreational lymphatic nodus disection. Adjuvan therapies performed after surgery are used for the purpose of prolonging the total and non-sick life of the disease. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of adjuvant immunotherapy and chemotherapy performed after surgery. Method: This work was planned as a prospective, one-handed work. 31 patients who meet the study’s admission criteria were given high doses of adjuvan interferon and/or decarbazine after surgery. The demographic data of the patients, the stages of the disease, the surgical procedures, the total and non-sick lifetime were recorded during the tracking period. Statistical analysis was made. Results: 18 of the patients (58%) were men and 13 (42%) women. The average age of the group was 52.6 years. The patient was followed for an average of 17.58 months. In the overall life-long analysis, the average life-long was 11 months (min:9,max:24) and the average life-long without disease was 10 ± 1,6 months. The result: MM was also stated in previous studies that post-chirurgical adjuvant immunotherapy extended the survival period without disease as well as adjuvant immunotherapy + chemotherapy also extended the total life period without disease. This study was also considered as an interim result and it was also considered that the extension of the tracking period will observe its effect on the unhealthy and overall survival.
