Türkiye gibi gelişmekte olan ülkelerde hanehalkı tasarrufları, ülke ekonomileri ve refahı için belirleyici niteliktedir. Bu çalışmada TÜİK tarafından yayımlanan 2002-2016 yılları arasında Hanehalkı Bütçe Anketi mikro veri setleri kullanılarak, Türkiye’de hanehalkı tasarrufları üzerinde etkili olan temel faktörler belirlenmiş ve yıllara göre hanehalkının tasarruflarındaki değişim gözlemlenmeye çalışılmıştır. İki durumlu probit regresyon modeli sonuçları, hanehalkının oturduğu konuta mülkiyet durumunun, konutun ısıtma sisteminin, ikinci konut ve müstakil konut sahipliğinin, sahip olunan otomobil adedinin, eşdeğer fert başına hanehalkı büyüklüğünün, hanehalkı reisinin yaşının, sağlık sigortasının varlığının, eğitim durumunun, mesleğinin ve eşinin çalışma durumunun hanehalkının tasarruflarını belirleyen en önemli faktörler olduğunu göstermiştir.
The saving of households is a crucial factor for the economies and well-being of developing countries like Turkey. This paper determines the basic factors that influence the household savings and tries to observe the changes in household savings over the years by the use of microdata sets of Household Budget Surveys that are conducted by the Turkish Statistical Institute for the 2002-2016 period. Bivariate probit regression model results indicate that ownership of the residence of the household, heating system of the residence, ownership of secondary house and detached house, number of the cars that household owns, per equivalent adult household you, the existence of health insurance for the head of the household, the age, the education level, the profession and the working status of the spouse are the most important factors that affect the household savings.
