Abstract:

When we look at the Turkish text, we see the women on the stage, intensely and the autobiographs of the theatrical women. The women theatrical actresses, who lived an extraordinary life, the stars of the pre-TV era, wrote their autobiographs in the 90s and 2000s and received memories books. In the context of this work, the autobiographical texts of Macide Tanır, Şirin Revolution, Gülriz Sururi and Nedret Güvenç, which are four major female actresses of the Turkish theatre, are addressed. The study is looking for the answer to the question of how the four actresses born between 1922 and 1930, which can be considered the same generation, built their lives in a similar social area and more specifically within the same theatre public as a story. Why do these women write autobiography? How do the stories appear? What do they say differently from the women who belonged to the previous generation? What are they not telling? The purpose of these life stories is to read autobiographical texts through questions such as how the self-fiction exists and how the relationship is established with society.
