Abstract:

It has been observed that Covid-19, which affects millions of students around the world, has adverse effects on education. For this reason, this research aims to examine the learning losses at the K12 level of emergency distance education applied during the Covid-19 pandemic and to seek solutions for the learning losses experienced. Thus research, it is aimed to increase the positive effects of the distance education process on learning. In line with this goal, a case study designs a qualitative research method was used to detect learning losses. In the interviews with the classroom teachers, it was determined with the findings that although there is more social learning in the emergency distance education applications of the pandemic period K12 level, there is a lack of achievement based on all courses, technology, and internet problems, lack of parental support and physical distance negatively affect the learning process based on all. It was discussed and suggestions were made about what families and teachers can do to compensate for the learning loss experienced.
