Abstract:

Among the works that were copyrighted or tran The Tradition of Transferring From Prose to Nazma and Abdi’s Prophet. Prophet and Hz. Hatice’s Masnavi Describing Her Marriage: Hikayet-i Tezvîc-i Sultan-ı Enbiyâslated in Turkish literature, there are works that were reconstructed in a later period. Although the originals of these works are in Turkish and in prose, there are examples that have been translated into Turkish but in verse. When this type of works are examined, it is understood that sometimes some parts of the source text were removed during the transfer process, and sometimes new parts that were not in the source text were added to the work. It is seen that the effort in transferring such works, most of which have a religious content, to verse is generally for pedagogical purposes. In this study, which is aimed to contribute to the field of translation studies as well as the field of literature, first of all, it was discussed which of the works transferred from prose to verse in Turkish-Islamic literature could be evaluated by making use of the studies done so far, and four more identified work was added to the list. The work, which is the subject of the study, is based on the important work of Qadi Darīr called Sīretü’n-nebī, which includes some firsts in the development process of Islamic literature. It was formed by transferring the part about the marriage of the Prophet to verse by Abdī, one of the 16th century poets. In this study, Abdī’s work called Hikāyet-i Tezvīc-i Sultān-ı Enbiyā will be examined in detail and the transcripted text of the work will be revealed.
