Literature is one of the best tools to keep people living in youth, understanding when they age, keep their minds awake, prepare for the tomorrow as knowledge and consciousness, educate artistically, translate past experiences to future generations. In this context, the poem of Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı, "Youth is Here," is one of the important and priority literary texts to be mentioned in order to transfer the experiences of a generation, his emotional and mental world and perception to the next generation, to think about them, to awareness them, to bring themselves, to question their existence, to realize the value of time and youth. This article was taken to explore the characteristics of the subject poem, form and content, and to analyze, using the literary portrait of the poet Cahit Sıtkı, first and foremost to remind the target audience of young people. This poem, with the theme of youth and the feeling of regret/theme, is a literary warning to young people that they should not waste their youth, and live full life. In this study, the method of document examination from the quality research patterns was used.

Literature is one of the best means of helping the young whom live only in the moment to become appreciative of others not only when they grow old, to become intellectually awake, preparing them to be knowledgeable and conscious people for the future; transmitting the experiences of the past to the posterity, to provide them with artistic training. Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı’s poem titled “That’s How Youth is” is one of the most important and primary literary texts in terms of transmitting the experiences of emotional and intellectual worlds and perception of one generation to the other by reflecting on them, making them conscious, bringing them to their senses, having them question their existence, and having them to understand the value of time and their youth. The aim of this article is to analyze the mentioned poem by giving references to the literary features of Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı, to remind the audience the importance of the poem and to examine its content and style. The poem gives voice to the subject of youth and the feeling/ theme of regret, it is also a literary warning to the new generation as to advising them to not waste their youth and live their lives to the fullest. In this study, the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research designs, is used.
