Amaç: Bu araştırma, gebelerde eş desteğinin annelik rolü, beden algısı ve distres düzeyi ile ilişkisinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Çalışma tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı türdedir. Veriler, bir kadın doğum hastanesinin NST polikliniğine başvuran 361 gebe ile kişisel bilgi formu, Eş Destek Ölçeği (EDÖ), Tilburg Gebelikte Distres Ölçeği (TGDÖ) ve Gebelerin Kendini Algılama Ölçeği (GKAÖ) aracılığıyla toplandı. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistiklerle birlikte, Pearson korelasyon analizi ve doğrusal regresyon kullanıldı. Bulgular: Gebelerin yaş ortalaması 27,04±5,04 yıl, gebelik haftası ortalaması 30,14±6,78 haftadır. Gebelerin eş destek düzeyi ile annelik algısı düzeyi arasında pozitif yönde ve güçlü bir ilişki olduğu (p<0,001), eş destek düzeyi ile olumsuz beden algısı ve distres düzeyi arasında negatif yönde ve orta düzeyde bir ilişki olduğu (p<0,001) belirlendi. Sonuç: Gebelerin eş desteği arttıkça olumsuz beden algısı ve distres düzeyi düşerken, annelik algısı yükselmektedir. Ebe ve hemşireler gebe izlemlerinde eşlerin anne adaylarına destek düzeylerini belirlemeli, anne ve baba adaylarına, eş desteğinin önemini ve annelik algısı ile olumsuz beden algısı ve gebelikte distrese yönelik ilişkisini açıklamalıdır.
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between spousal support and maternal role, body image, and distress levels in pregnant women. Methods: The study was descriptive and relationship-seeking. Data were collected from 361 pregnant women who applied to the NST outpatient clinic of a maternity hospital, using a personal information form, the Spouse Support Scale (SSS), the Tilburg Pregnancy Distress Scale (TPDS), and the Self-Perception Scale for Women with Pregnancy (SPSW). Pearson correlation analysis and linear regression were used along with descriptive statistics in the analysis of the data. Results: The mean age of the pregnant women was 27.04±5.04 years, and the mean week of gestation was 30.14±6.78 weeks. It was determined that there was a positive and strong relationship between the level of spousal support and the perception of motherhood of the pregnant women (p<0.001), and a negative and moderate relationship between the level of spousal support and negative body image and distress level (p<0.001). Conclusions: As the support of pregnant women increases, the level of distress and negative body perception decreases, while the perception of motherhood increases. Midwives and nurses should determine the support levels of their spouses during pregnancy follow-up, and explain the importance of spousal support to prospective mothers and fathers and the relationship between motherhood perception and negative body image and distress during pregnancy.
