Yakın dönem siyasal tarihimizin en önemli davalarından olan İzmir Suikastı Davası’nın bilinmeyen boyutlarından biri de, idam edilen mahkûmların yakınları ve ailelerinin durumu idi. Dava dosyası, kararların verilmesi ve infazların yapılmasının ardından kapanmış olmasına karşın yaşananlar ve sonuçları, aileler için hiçbir zaman unutulmayacak bir sürecinde başlangıcını oluşturmuştu. Bu makalede, 1956 yılında gazetelerde yayınlanan bir mevlit ilanının ardından gündeme getirilen İzmir Suikastı Mahkûmlarına İade-i İtibar girişiminin arka planı ve bu doğrultuda yaşanan tartışmaların kamuoyuna yansımaları konu edilmektedir

A Refundable Credit Attempt for Convicts of Izmir in 1956 one of the unknown issues of Izmir assassination which is the most important political trials in the near past is the condition of families of the convicts sentenced to death. Although the trial finished after the verdict and execution, experiences and its results were the beginning of a process which have never been forgetten by the families. In this article, it is examined that the background of a refundable credit attempt for the convicts of Izmir after a mevlit (Islamic memorial service) announcement published in the newspapers in 1956 and the discussions in the public opinion
