This study approaches the data on some farms, which brought problems in utilization for a long time, in the Sanjak of Aydin, which was one of the richest regions in the Ottoman Empire after Egypt and Rumelia. It contain some clues, which were obtained through comparisons whith other documents and registers, on the problems encountered in the agricultural production in the regionand represents an example about the center-periphery relations in the Ottoman Empire. The problems resulted from the gradual substitution of the Timar regime with the iltizam (tax-farming) system were mainly troubling the dirlik holders and this was causing set backs in the enforcement of state authority in the rural areas. Despite the passing of time, continuity of the problems of the farms mentioned in this paper presents a problem that reguires consideration
