The aim of this research is to identify the problems that teachers experience in their postgraduate education process and their opinions on the development of their career based on postgraduate education and their solutions to these problems. In the study, the only state-of-the-country patterns used were the patterns of study. The research group consists of thirty-two teachers. The data related to the research was obtained through the semi-configured interview form conducted by pilot application and validity and reliability studies. In the analysis of the data obtained from the research, content analysis was used. According to the research results, it has been determined that teachers prefer graduate education for personal and professional development, academic career and research skills for learning purposes. Graduate education has been determined to meet the expectations of teachers in scientific research, personal development, scientific literature, specialization in the field. The courses are in different days, they do not have enough time, they have trouble in transportation, they have trouble in licensing and participating in scientific congresses; the structure of the Ministry of Education has determined that the economic contribution of postgraduate education to the teacher in terms of career development is limited and that the postgraduate education does not see sufficient value. The use of a language that supports the personal development of teachers in the relevant legislation as solutions to the problems that are present, should be supported by encouraging scientific work in order to contribute to the personal and professional development of teachers. However, the teachers participating have developed recommendations such as giving monthly leave during the thesis preparation periods, sending teachers abroad for research purposes for a certain period of time, giving priority to those who have graduated in the school, district, provincial administration and other senior management staff’s positions. According to the results obtained in the study, the legislation on postgraduate education has been updated in favour of teachers' professional development, the presentation of some incentives for teachers' postgraduate education, the creation of a performance and career system aimed at improving teachers' professional skills.

The aim of this study was to determine the problems that teachers experience during the postgraduate education process, suggestions for solutions to these problems and to determine their views on career development based on postgraduate education. In the study, embedded single-case design and case study, which is one of the qualitative research methodologies, were used in this study. Thirty-two teachers constitute the working group of the research. The data related to the research were obtained through a semi-structured interview form, where the validity and reliability studies were carried out with the pilot application. In the analysis of the data obtained from the research, değercontent analysis was used. According to the results of the research, it has been determined that teachers prefer postgraduate education for personal and professional development, academic career and learning research skills. It was determined that postgraduate education meets the expectations of teachers in subjects such as scientific research, personal development, scientific literacy and specialization in the field. They had problems on the different days of the lessons, not having enough time, difficulties in transportation, getting permission and participating in scientific congresses; within the structure of the Ministry of National Education, it has been determined that postgraduate education has limited economic contributions to the teacher for career development and that postgraduate education does not see sufficient value. As a solution suggestion for the problems encountered, it was stated in the relevant legislation that a language that supports the personal development of teachers should be encouraged and supported by scientific studies in order to contribute to the personal and professional development of teachers. In addition, suggestions were developed by participant teachers, such as granting monthly leave during the thesis preparation periods, sending teachers abroad for research for a certain period of time, and prioritizing those who have graduated from the school, district, provincial directorate and other senior management positions. In line with the results obtained in the research, suggestions such as updating legislation related to postgraduate education in favor of the professional development of teachers, providing some incentives to expand teachers ‘postgraduate education, establishing performance and career system for improving teachers’ professional competencies were presented.
