Kayseri’de Kadınlarda Toxoplasma gondii Seropozitifliğinin Araştırılması

Toxoplasmosis, Toxoplasma gondii’nin sebep olduğu parazitik bir hastalıktır. Prevalansı coğrafik konuma, yaşa, beslenme ve yaşam alışkanlıklarına bağlı olarak farklılıklar gösterir. Bu çalışmada, Kayseri Kadın Doğum ve Çocuk Hastalıkları Hastanesi’ne başvuran kadınlarda Toxoplasma gondii seropozitifliğinin saptanması amaçlanmıştır. Ağustos 2005-Aralık 2008 tarihleri arasında hastanemize başvuran 2235 kadın hastadan alınan kan örneğinde Mikropartikül Enzim Immunoassay (MEIA) yöntemi ile anti-Toxoplasma gondii IgG ve IgM antikorları araştırılmıştır. Toxoplasma seropozitifliği %33,42 olarak bulunmuş ve bu pozitifliğin yaşla birlikte arttığı saptanmıştır (p<0.05).
