Objective: By this preparation study, Kocaeli and staff will be tested on how to be much better for the disasters in future. In addition to the questionnaire, this study includes the importance preparations of disasters in the hospitals and the effects of economic, social, environmental disasters. Matherials and Methods: In this study, a questionnaire has been applied to the staff of Kocaeli Derince Education and Research hospital and has been analyzed the weak and strong ways of preparation of disaster in the hospital. Data: 64 % of the hospital staff thinks that the hospital has a disaster plan. Approximately 33,7 % of those claming that the hospital has a disaster plan think that disaster risk analyze has been carried out in the hospital. 75,5 % of the participants who think the hospital has a disaster plan have specified that they don‟t know anything about whether it has an emergency plan or not about the hospital‟s blood supply , storage and protecting. Results: This study has clearly revealed that there is a necessity of increasing the awareness of disaster in Kocaeli Derince Education and Research Hospital, increasing the studies that have been made to support the voluntarily participation of the health staffs in this subject.Derince Education and Research hospital management
