Abstract:

Developing the individual’s musical perception-knowledge, aesthetic thought, creativity and ability, individual and social relationships, mental skills, etc. It is important that in the music training carried out in accordance with its specific purposes that the class teacher has sufficient knowledge of the music field and that the knowledge of this field may be used in the training process. Therefore, the high belief of self-sufficiency to music education of classmates in the primary school, which is one of the important stages of basic education, will contribute to the effectiveness of the education that will be achieved and the development of equipped individuals. Music education activities contribute not only to children’s academic achievements but also to the development of identity, friendship relationships and social communications. Therefore, it is important that in the early school period the child may benefit from the music education that can bring his interest, needs and capacities to the highest possible level; it is believed that the class teacher is equipped in the field of music education and that the high level of self-capacity will support and shape the child’s musical development process. With this thought, this study is designed to present the adaptation and validity-confidence studies for the determination of class teachers’ self-capacity to the music course of the "Body Education and Sports Course Problem Determination Scale" developed by Bozdemir (2012). The research was carried out with 252 class teachers working in the primary schools associated with the Ministry of Education of the State. The scale in the likert type 5 is found to be valid and reliable as a result of the study of the scale adapted to the scale of self-sufficiency for the music lesson in the form of 20 items distributed to 5 factors. In determining whether the data obtained from the application of the measurement is suitable for factor analysis, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) sample conformity test and the validity of the factor analysis to determine the factor structure of the measurement, the Cronbach Alfa number was determined and calculated at 0.743. The basic components applied to bring the data set to a state that can be analyzed by factor analysis resulted in the analysis of the 5 factors with the value of essence 1 and above. According to the results obtained, it can be said that the adapted scale is an appropriate measurement tool to measure the class teachers’ self-capacity for music education.
