Objective: To identify the prevalence of self-reported diabetes and the associated factors in employees of a University Center. Methods: Cross-sectional study with 128 technical collaborators, selected by probabilistic sampling, between January and December 2019. In addition to the outcome variable, self-reported diabetes, sociodemographic factors, behavioral habits and anthropometric profile were evaluated. For statistical analysis, the absolute and relative frequency was estimated. To analyze the associations between the dependent variable and the independent variables (sociodemographic, behavioral habits and anthropometric profile), a bivariate analysis was performed using the chi-square test, with a significance level of p ≤0.05. Results: The prevalence of self-inflicted diabetes was 16.8% of the employees. The factors associated with this disease were marital status, depression and BMI. Conclusion: It is concluded that the high prevalence of diabetes is related to factors such as marital status, depression and body mass index. Given this reality, sociodemographic, clinical and anthropometric characteristics can help to track and guide this pathology.
