Abstract:

Today called the digital age, it is possible to say that media literature, defined as the ability to reach, analyze, evaluate and transmit very diverse messages, is one of the skills expected from the 21st century individual. The purpose of this research is to determine the levels of "Media Reading" of individuals of X, Y and Z generations living in Fisheries. It is also to study how media literature levels of participants are explained by variables such as gender, generation, teaching level, profession, type of school they study, the district they live. The research was carried out using the general scan model. The sample group consists of 314 high school students and 168 adults who agree to participate in our research. The study used the “Media Reading Level Identification Scale (MODBÖ)” (Media Reading Level Definition Scale). Data analysis used frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA test. The study found that in X and Y generations there were significant differences according to the state of learning and the district variables in which they lived. Analysis of the Z-generation has found significant differences in gender and school type variables. In X, Y, Z generations there is no differentiation in gender variation, but there is a significant difference in gender variation and in the district in which they live. It is believed that our results will keep light on the planning of the work aimed at achieving the expected social skills of individuals that will contribute to the development of society.
