Abstract:

Abstract:

Match: In this study, the aim is to study the conditions of treatment of tuberculosis patients applying to the Verem war dispanser in the province of Istanbul or Zeytinburnu and the factors affecting it. Tools and Methods: The study included 85 patients, and the survey form was applied to investigate the factors associated with these patients. Patients who don’t stop taking their medications in the middle, who come to regularly taking their medications from the dispenser during treatment and who don’t forget to drink the medication have been positively assessed. Results: Only 29.4 percent of participants found that they stopped taking the drug halfway, 17.6 percent did not come to take the drug while they were treated, and 21.2 percent said they forgot to take the drug. The negative behavior on the issue of non-coming to medication has been shown to be less compared to other economic statutes, especially in the middle-income group (post hoc) (7.9 per cent vs. 92.1 per cent). As the duration of the disease extends, the rate of "do not stop taking the drug" and "do not come to take the drug" has increased. The result: It is extremely important that tuberculosis patients regularly use their medications in their treatment adaptations. It is necessary for the first stage health team to master the relevant processes, to be able to plan interventions that improve the conformity of the person to the treatment, knowing the factors that prevent patients from taking medications, in terms of public health.

Abstract:

Purpose: The aim of thi study was to investigate the treatment compliance of tuberculosis patients who applied to tuberculosis dispensary in Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul province and the factors affecting this. Materials and Methods: 85 patients were included in the study. Patients who do not stop taking their medication during the data collection process, who come to take their medicines regularly from the dispensary while on treatment, and do not forget to drink medicines are compatible with the treatment. An information form has been collected to gather related factors. Results: Only 29.4% of the participants stopped taking their medication, 17.6% did not come to take their medication while the treatment was continuing, and 21.2% stated that they forgot to take their medication. Although it seems that it does not have a determining role in showing negative treatment behavior, negative behavior with the subject of "not coming to take medicine" is less common in the middle income group (post hoc) compared to other economic status (7.9% vs. 92.1%). As the duration of the illness was prolonged, the rates of "stopping taking medication" and "not coming to take medicine" increased. Conclusions: It is extremely important for tuberculosis patients to use their medication regularly in compliance with treatment. It is necessary for public health that the primary health care team has a command of processes, and is able to plan interventions that increase the patient's compliance with treatment by knowing the factors that prevent patients from taking medication.
