Abstract:

A certain idea or project may come to mind of a person who wants to be an entrepreneur. In order to realize the idea or project first, it is clear that there may be obstacles regarding where and how to find the financial resource. Crowdfunding has emerged as a new financing method to solve these problems. With the development of technology, crowdfunding has started to be known to the world. Nowadays, many countries are interested in crowdfunding, the operation of which is carried out through internet platforms. Many problems can be solved by supporting crowdfunding, which offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to raise funds from all over the world. Therefore, developed countries find it appropriate to give comprehensive support to this new model. It is useful to examine the reliability of the crowdfunding method, the relevant legislation, and whether the projects that have been successfully realized through this method are beneficial to the state and society. To date, studies on crowdfunding have generally been published as theoretical studies. In this study, Turkey's reward and equity based crowdfunding platforms were compared and examined by content analysis method. Data on platforms in Turkey that use reward, donation and equity based crowdfunding models are given. Crowdfunding is a new method in Turkey. Information about this method has not yet become widespread among people. It is necessary to ensure that the funding method, which is growing rapidly in developed countries, also develops in Turkey.
