The study was performed in a identifiable way in order to determine the pain, functional condition and daily life activities in older women with osteoartritis, with total back and knee protection. The sample of the study was made by 290 older women with osteoartritis, who had a total back or knee prothesis surgery from August 2017 to November 2018 to the University Hospital's Orthopedic and Traumatological Clinic. The data of the study was collected using the indicative information form, the visual analog score (VAS), the functional evaluation form and the Barthel Daily Life Activities Index. In the evaluation of the data, identifiable statistics and Wilcoxon tests were used. The study resulted in a total back or knee protection in patients after arthroplasty 6. It has been determined that all patients per week have a mild continuous pain; there is a mobilization restriction due to causes such as pain, infection, fear of dislocation, arthrosis, fear of fall. It has also been shown that the functional levels of patients are getting better than before arthroplasty, and that the functional evaluation score average and the Barthel Index score average have increased statistically significantly. The study found that patients were fewer than previously with arthroplasty, but they experienced pain and functional restrictions.
The study was carried out descriptively aiming order to determine the pain, functional status and daily life activities of elderly women with osteoarthritis who underwent total hip or knee prosthesis. The study included 290 women with osteoarthritis who underwent total hip and knee arthroplasty and admitted to Orthopedics and Traumatology outpatient of Ibni Sina Hospital between August 2017 and November 2018. Data of the study were collected using The Introductory Information Form, Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Functional Assesment Form and Barthel Daily Living Activities Index. Descriptive statistics and Wilcoxon test were for data analysis. As a result of the study: all patients at the 6th week after arthroplasty had mild persistent pain; pain after arthroplasty, infection, fear of dislocation, arthrodesis, fear of falling, and other causes limitation of mobility of the patients; it was founded that the functional levels of the patients after arthroplasty were better than those before the arthroplasty, and the median of the Functional Assessment point and Barthel Index score increased significantly. According to the results of the study, patients are less painful and have functional restraint than before.
