Abstract:

The National Museum of Damascus is the oldest cultural heritage institution in Syria. The museum; findings taken from important archaeological areas such as Mari, Ebla, Ugarit, nail-written tablets, Dura-Europos Synagogues, Roman Period Mosaics, works brought from Palmyra, textiles, Kasr-el Hay-el Garbi frescoes, ceramic, glass, mining, wood, stone, writing works with XVIII. Traditional example of the Damascus house of the century includes contemporary works of artists from the Syrian-Arab world and other countries. There are stone works in the museum’s garden. These include works such as architectural plastics, books and stellers from the ancient period to the end of the Ottoman period. Specifically Eyyubi and Memluklu periods belonging to stone foundation and building books are exhibited. Şam Ulusal Müze, Suriye'deki en eski kültürel miras kurumudur. Müzede; Mari, Ebla, Ugarit gibi önemli arkeolojik alanlardan çıkarılan buluntular, çivi yazılı tabletler, Dura-Europos Sinagogu, Roma Dönemi mozaikleri, Palmyra’dan getirilen eserler, tekstiller, Kasr-el Hayır-el Garbi freskleri, seramik, cam, maden, ahşap, taş, yazma eserler ile XVIII. yüzyıla ait geleneksel Şam evi örneği, Suriye - Arap dünyası ve diğer ülkelerden sanatçıların çağdaş eserleri yer almaktadır. Müzenin bahçesinde taş eserler sergilenmektedir. Bunlar antik dönemden Osmanlının sonuna kadarki döneme ait mimari plastikler, kitabeler ve steller gibi eserleri kapsamaktadır. Özellikle Eyyubi ve Memluklu Dönemleri’ne ait taş vakfiye ve yapı kitabeleri sergilenmektedir. Tutuş Türbesi’nden Ahşap Maksure Parçası, Bahti Hatun’un Ahşap Sandukası, Saray Küpü, Rakka (Atlı) Süvarisi, Seramik Kandil-Figürinler, Hayvan Mücadele Sahnesi Kabartması, Halid Bin Velid Türbesindeki Sultan Baybars’ın Anı Kitabesi, Sultan El-Melik En- Nâsır’ın Mezar Taşı, Bakır Tas, Matara, Pusula (Kıble Yönlü) Tabak, Lala Mustafa Paşa Camisi’nin Çeşmesi ve Lala Mustafa Paşa Camii Çini Pencere Alınlığı olmak üzere Emevi, Abbasi Selçuklu, Eyyubi, Memluklu ve Osmanlı Dönemi’ne ait sergide olan eserlerden örnekler incelenmiştir.
