Abstract:

The aim of this study is to identify the factors affecting the e-government use conditions of individuals in Turkey with a multi-variable probite regression analysis, using the micro-data set of the Home Information Technology Usage Research, which was conducted by the Turkish Statistical Authority in 2018. According to the model results, gender, educational status, profession, computer use frequency, internet use frequency, e-commerce use, region, age, number of computer equipment and household size variables have been identified as effective variables in the use of e-government by individuals. Men use e-government more than women. The study found that the e-government use conditions decreased as the level of education of individuals decreased. The study also found that the number of people who use the internet has decreased over the past three months, and the number of people who use the e-government has decreased. It has been found that e-commerce users use more e-government. As the age and the size of the household population increases, the use of e-government decreases, the number of computer equipment in the house increases, and the use of e-government increases.
