Abstract:

One of the most basic desires and needs of disabled individuals is to be involved in the work life. There are various methods of employment that have been applied for disabled individuals in the world and in Turkey, and many of them are still being implemented. However, these methods are not yet sufficiently known and are not properly applied. This is why disabled persons are deprived of their rights to be employed. In this context, the purpose of the research is to determine how high the rights of disabled people living in Kadirli are known and how high the conditions of employment of disabled individuals in food and beverage enterprises in Kadirli are. In this study used the quality research method, faced-to-face conversations were made with 10 disabled individuals identified by the purpose sampling method. The research found that disabled individuals did not know enough about their rights and the content of disabled employment methods. In food and beverage, employers and other employees have been found to show sometimes ridiculous and bad attitudes towards disabled individuals. Therefore, attitudes and behaviors towards disabled individuals in food and beverage enterprises are an important element in the lack of employment of disabled persons. The work environment should be created in a position that is suitable for disabled persons and disabled persons should be awarenessed. It is also necessary to create awareness in society by raising awareness of disabled people.
