Abstract:

In this study, it was discussed how the Syrian asylum-seeking women, who felt the deepest dimension of war and immigration and who had to live alone because they were not their father or husband, perceived the viewpoint of the local people against them. In this context, it has been examined whether the Syrian asylum-seeking women who have to live alone have a negative attitude towards them and how they perceive this situation, especially the attitudes and perceptions of Turkish women, who are hereditary, to the lonely Syrian women. In addition to these, the existence of problems such as exclusion, security, social repression and abuse, and how to fight against such negativities, have been researched through semi-structured interview techniques. All interviewed were married at an early age and remained widowed because they lost their husbands due to war. In the study, 8 participants were interviewed at the age of 18-42. As a result of the research, it was determined that the indigenous people had negative attitudes towards Syrian widow asylum seekers, especially Turkish women regarded Syrian widowers as dangerous due to disturbance of family order and second wife status. In addition, Syrian women are exposed to social exclusion because they are both Syrian and lonely. It has been found that female asylum seekers who have been found to have security problems in their homes and in their neighborhood have been subjected to pressure, verbal or physical abuse in marriage and many other abuses. Against all this, Syrian participants are desperate in their struggle, often forced to live a life they can not get out of the house, which makes social adjustment more difficult.
