Abstract:

The hagiographies, which contribute to the continuity of cultural, social, religious and national values by transferring them to generations and thus strengthen the bond between generations, contain plenty of information about the modes of living during the period. Sufi hagiographies also include information regarding Sufi lifestyle and understanding. The use of animal motifs in order to place belief-related values in hearts and minds is one of the elements encountered in hagiographies. Therefore, the aim of the study was to consider some animal motifs in Sufi hagiographies and to evaluate the inscriptions in which such motifs take place in terms of Sufism. In this study, document scanning model was used in qualitative research, and document scanning method was used for data collection. The data in this research were obtained by document analysis method. Hagiographies chosen by sampling have been addressed in line with the determined goals.
