Abstract:

From the past to the present, people have needed various means of communication to express themselves. In this process, in addition to various methods of communication, the formation and development of modern mass tools in the field of graphic design holds an important place. Graphic design is the work of making the information intended to be given into visual messages using text, image and color elements. Images must be transmitted correctly to people through communication language. In addition to the idea of giving the message intended to communicate in an original way with graphic design, it is visual communication that helps the other side to raise interest and easily reach large audiences. Listings are one of the easiest and most effective methods to communicate about a new product, business or promotional event, especially today. In this context, the use of poster has a variety of advantages, and therefore more and more people and prefer to use the poster for information and promotion purposes. Posters that play an important role in advertisements, public spots and announcements also take an important role. The publication of important announcements or the broadcast of public warnings in general is supported by local governments or the state. Today, the rapid development of urbanization, along with the consumption of food, causes the need for energy to often appear. During this period, the rapid increase in the population of the cities, either by natural means or in recent years, due to the concentration of migrations due to worldwide wars or natural disasters, has brought water consumption, especially in major cities, to the highest level. With the population increase, the unproportionate watering processes in agricultural areas, the unconscious water consumption and the concentration of the amount of carbon emitted into the atmosphere have begun to change the climate conditions, especially in areas with a hot climate structure. Recently, information is provided to the public through various poster designs on topics such as water savings and drought hazards. With the interaction of used images and typographic designs, it is attempted to reach the crowds. The objective of this study is to guide the graphic design technique with examples of poster designs designed with the purpose of informing the public about water waste, drought and water savings.
