Bu araştırmada, değerler eğitimi yaklaşımlarına göre geliştirilen demokrasi eğitimi etkinliklerinin, 6. sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde öğrencilerin demokratik değerlerinin geliştirilmesine ve demokrasi algılarına etkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, hoşgörü, saygı, eşitlik, temel hak ve özgürlükler gibi demokratik değerlere yönelik etkinlikler geliştirilerek uygulanmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada nitel ve nicel araştırma desenlerinin bir arada kullanılması sonucu oluşan 'paralel karma yöntem' kullanılmıştır. Deney gurubu 27, kontrol gurubu ise 29 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Araştırma verileri; Demokrasi Algısı Ölçeği ve görüşme kayıtlarından elde edilmiştir. Nicel verilerin analizinde ilişkisiz örneklemler t-testinden, nitel verilerin analizinde ise betimsel analiz yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda deney ve kontrol grubunun ölçüm sonuçları incelendiğinde deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu görülmüştür [t(54)=8.568, p
